How It Works

Future Proof Connect is a two-day virtual meetings event designed to help you have high-value conversations without the usual conference friction. Think of the Breakthru Meetings Program from Future Proof — but online. No travel. No traffic. No wasted time. Just 15-minute, pre-scheduled video meetings with people you actually want to talk to.

Over two days, you'll have up to 20 curated 1:1 meetings, connecting with financial advisors, ETF issuers, investors, and fintech partners — all within a personalized schedule built around your preferences. You pick who you want to meet, they opt in, and meetings get scheduled. It's that simple.

01

Complete your profile and set your availability in the weeks before the event.

02

Request meetings with the people you want to connect with. The AI Target-Finder helps surface the best matches.

03

Opt in to inbound requests from people who selected you but you didn't originally request.

04

Accept your meetings to confirm your schedule.

05

Join your meetings on Nov 18–19 via the platform or mobile app. 15 minutes each, 5-minute breaks between.

Meetings are always double opt-in. You'll only be scheduled with people you've mutually selected. Meetings are 15 minutes with a 5-minute break between slots.

We'll guide you through each step with email and text reminders. If you don't get an email, check your spam folder for messages from donotreply.fpbreakthruconnect@eventpt.com and reach out to us at breakthru@futureproofhq.com with any questions.

What You Need to Do & When

All deadlines close at 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT unless otherwise stated. Completing each step on time gives you the best chance of receiving high-value meetings and making the most of your Future Proof Connect experience.

If you don't receive an email, check your spam folder for messages from donotreply.fpbreakthruconnect@eventpt.com.

Organization Admins Only. If your organization has purchased Hosted Meetings, you (or another Org Admin) must assign individuals as Meetings Representatives by Monday, October 12 at 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT.
  • To assign a Meetings Rep: Log in to MyExperience and click "Manage Participants". Select participants you want to be a Meetings Rep by checking the boxes next to their names.
  • Individuals must be registered to attend Future Proof Connect to be assigned as a Meetings Rep.
  • We recommend having 1 Meetings Rep per 10 Hosted Meetings. If your organization has purchased 30 Hosted Meetings, you should assign 3 or more Meetings Reps. There's no limit for how many Meetings Reps your organization can have.
  • Meetings Reps will be able to complete their profile from Tuesday, October 13 – Friday, October 23.
Start your Future Proof Connect Meetings Profile on Tuesday, October 13 and complete it by Friday, October 23 at 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT. We'll share everyone's profiles at the same time once they're all complete.
Registration Deadline! To participate in Future Proof Connect, you must register before Friday, October 23 at 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT.
  • Tell us about yourself. Select from 100+ data points to help others determine if they want to meet with you.
  • Set your availability. The more time slots you open, the more meetings we can schedule for you. You can update availability any time until Friday, November 6 at 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT.
  • Post on Social to tell your X followers and LinkedIn contacts that you're participating in Future Proof Connect!
  • Make an Announcement: Tell the thousands of Future Proof Connect participants about your newly announced products, partnerships, funding, acquisitions, research and anything else!
  • AI Target-Finder pinpoints the attendees you should meet — learning in real time from hundreds of thousands of past meeting selections. The more detailed your profile, the easier it will be for the right people to find you.
  • If you're a Hosted Financial Advisor or Limited Partner, you are required to be available for at least 8 of the 20 time slots. We'll schedule a max of 4 Hosted Meetings.
  • Org Admins can edit and complete profiles on behalf of participants from your organization. Check out the Org Admin Pro Tips at the end of these guidelines for more info.
Audio/Visual Check: You should do an Audio/Visual check (desktop or mobile app, takes under 1 minute) to be sure your system is ready for your meetings. Deadline: Tuesday, November 3. If you have a tech issue, email breakthru@futureproofhq.com for assistance.
Start requesting meetings on Monday, October 26 and complete by Tuesday, November 3 at 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT.
The most efficient way to request meetings is through the AI Target-Finder — a powerful tool that pinpoints the Future Proof Connect attendees you should meet, helping connect you with the right people faster. A live engine, it learns from hundreds of thousands of past Breakthru meeting selections and adapts to the current event's emerging trends and your own meeting requests in real time. When you access the Request Meetings screen, you'll land directly in the AI Target-Finder view, showing your top 100 recommended attendees, ranked by relevance.
  • At a minimum, we recommend you make requests equal to at least 4× the number of timeslots you're available for. The progress wheel tracks your requests against your recommended number.
  • You can request multiple people from the same organization. We'll schedule as many meetings with unique organizations as possible before doubling up.
  • Work through your recommended attendees, apply Filters to narrow within your list, and use the personalized AI Chips to quickly find relevant people. Hover over any chip to see how it's generated.
  • Add a reason for meeting where you can — reasons are shared with the person you're requesting and make them more likely to say yes.
  • Mark "Very Interested" to prioritize those selections over "Interested" ones — we try to schedule Very Interested matches first.
  • Meetings Reps:
    • Select ALL Hosted FAs & LPs you'd like to meet (these become Hosted Meeting requests).
    • At a minimum, we recommend Hosted Meeting requests equal to at least 4× the number of Hosted Meetings your organization has purchased. The progress wheel tracks your requests against your recommended number.
    • You can also make General (Non-Hosted) Meeting requests for additional connections — these will not be counted towards your Hosted Meetings.
  • Org Admins can request meetings on behalf of participants — see the Org Admin Pro Tips for more information.
Review requests you received from people you didn't previously select starting Wednesday, November 4 and complete by Friday, November 6 at 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT.
Availability Deadline! You can change your availability until Friday, November 6 at 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT.
  • We facilitate meetings based only on the requests you opt in to (and your previous selections), so please opt in to every request from someone you'd spend 15 minutes with.
  • The more requests you opt in to, the more meetings you'll likely get.
  • Org Admins can opt in on behalf of participants in their organization.

If you're a Hosted Financial Advisor or Limited Partner:

  • You must opt in to Hosted Meeting requests from at least 12 organizations. If you receive Hosted Meeting requests from fewer than 12 organizations, then you must opt in to the number you receive. Remember, we'll schedule only 4 Hosted Meetings max.
  • You can opt in to multiple requests from the same organization, but they'll only count as 1 organization.
  • Hosted Meeting requests appear at the top of your screen when you log in.
  • You should also opt in to any Non-Hosted Meeting requests you receive from participants you would like to meet.

If you're a Meetings Rep:

  • Opt-ins to requests from Hosted Financial Advisors & Limited Partners will default to Hosted Meeting requests.
On Monday, November 9, you'll receive an email to review and accept each of your meetings. Please do this by Thursday, November 12 at 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT.
You need to accept your own meetings — Org Admins cannot accept on your behalf. If you don't accept a meeting by the deadline, that meeting won't get scheduled.
  • Accept all meetings. You get meetings with people you selected who also selected you. Not accepting meetings might disappoint others.

If you're a Hosted Financial Advisor or Limited Partner:

  • You must accept all of your Hosted Meetings (max of 4). You won't be penalized if the other person doesn't accept.
  • You should also accept your Non-Hosted Meetings (if any).

If you're a Meetings Rep:

  • You must accept all of your Hosted Meetings. Hosted Meetings that aren't accepted will not be refunded to your organization.
  • You should also accept your Non-Hosted Meetings (if any).
Audio/Visual Check reminder: You should do an Audio/Visual check (desktop or mobile app, takes under 1 minute) to be sure your system is ready for your meetings. If you have a tech issue, email breakthru@futureproofhq.com for assistance.

If you have backfilled meetings, you'll receive an email on Friday, November 13 at 9:00 AM ET / 6:00 AM PT. Accept all meetings the same day by 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT.

Backfilled meetings are either replacements for meetings not accepted by the other participant, or new meetings from your previous selections where others have become available.

Important: You'll receive calendar invites on Monday, November 16.
Not showing up to meetings may result in you and your organization being barred from future participation.

It's time! You must join all your scheduled meetings. You can join via our platform or mobile app.

  • When should you click the link to join? You'll be able to join the meeting room up to 2 minutes early. And if someone is late, give them a 5-minute grace period.
  • Don't share the unique link in your calendar invite with anyone else — only one person can use it at one time. You'll get kicked out of the meeting if someone else uses your link!
  • Need backup? You can invite up to 1 registered colleague (if they're available) until 30 minutes before the start of your meeting. They'll get a calendar invite.

If you're a Hosted Financial Advisor or Limited Partner:

  • You must attend all of your Hosted Meetings (max of 4). If you're late, the other person may already have left — in which case you're considered a no-show. You won't be penalized if the other person doesn't show up, or if they're more than 5 minutes late and you've left.

If you're a Hosted Meetings Rep:

  • You must attend all of your Hosted Meetings.

On Friday, November 20, you will receive an email to provide feedback on Future Proof Connect to help us improve. Please share your thoughts by Friday, December 4 at 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT.

  • Once you provide feedback, you can download a summary of your meetings, including your notes and contact details of who you met.

Org Admin Pro Tips

To help complete action items for participants and your organization, you'll need to use a desktop — the Future Proof Connect mobile app does not support Org Admin activities.

If you're a participant completing action items just for yourself, you can use the Future Proof Connect mobile app.

  • Select who you want to manage: Go to 'Manage Participants & Roles' and select the participants from your organization that you want to 'Manage As Org Admin'. You can then help complete action items on their behalf.
  • Add or assign Org Admins: Click 'Add New Org Admin' to add unregistered individuals as Org Admins, or click 'Assign' to assign existing participants as Org Admins.
  • To assign an individual as a Meetings Rep: Log in to MyExperience and click "Manage Participants". Select participants you want to be a Meetings Rep by checking the boxes next to their names.

Managing Different Types of Participants

Your organization may have individuals with different roles — for example: (1) Hosted Financial Advisors & Limited Partners, (2) Meetings Reps (if your organization has purchased Hosted Meetings), or (3) General Participants. As an Org Admin, you can help complete action items for any of them regardless of role. Please review these guidelines to understand the required action items at each stage.

  • Manage Participants: To manage meeting requests for a participant, find them in your list of managed participants and click their link. Their meeting request screen will open in a new tab.
  • Participant view: When you open a participant's link, you'll see exactly what they would see if they logged in directly. Make selections on their behalf from this view.
  • Multiple participants: You can manage multiple participants simultaneously by opening each in a separate tab.

Just like regular participants, Org Admins can use the full range of collaboration and time-saving features:

  • Bookmarks: If you're not sure you want to request to meet someone (for the participants you're requesting meetings for, or yourself if you're a participant), simply Bookmark them and decide later — they'll be under 'Bookmarks'.
  • Saved Lists: Click 'Save List' to name and save a specific search/filter result so you can come back to it later — it'll be under 'My Lists'.
  • Share Saved Lists (Meetings Reps who are also Org Admins): Share your saved lists with all Meetings Reps from your organization by toggling the slider when saving or editing the list. They'll automatically get any changes you make.
  • Lists Shared With Me (Meetings Reps who are also Org Admins): If Meetings Reps from your organization have shared their lists, they'll be under 'Lists Shared With Me'.
  • Share Participants' Requests: You can share the meeting requests of the Meetings Reps you're requesting meetings for from the 'Manage Participants' meeting requests screen. If you're a Meetings Rep, you can share your own meeting requests from there as well. Note that meeting requests can only be shared with other Meetings Reps.
  • Meeting Requests Progress: Click the tooltip at the top of the screen to track the progress of participants you're helping manage against their recommended minimum number of meeting requests.

From the Accept Meetings stage onwards, you may view the ongoing progress and status of the participants you want to manage, including:

  • Whether participants have accepted their meetings
  • Whether participants have accepted any additional meetings
  • Participants' scheduled meetings
  • Whether participants have provided feedback

Our participant list is confidential and shouldn't be (1) shared with anyone else, (2) downloaded or (3) used other than as described by us. Based on information you receive as part of the Future Proof Connect Meetings program, you can't solicit participants (including individuals you're scheduled to meet prior to your meetings) outside of the event other than as we permit. If you breach this provision, you may be eliminated from further participation and barred from future programs. Do not assume that requests (or opt-ins) to meet with you as part of Future Proof Connect Meetings Program indicate any interest in meeting with you outside of the Future Proof Connect Meetings Program.
